To Poe

私が唯一甘えられる男の子であったポーが先週の日曜の朝に死んでしまった。その前日、ニューヨークに突然行くことになったので妙子さん宅に立ち寄って元気な姿を見たばかりだったのにー電話を受けて迷わずニューヨークに舞い戻った。冷たくなってしまったポー。まだ生きているようなやすらかな顔をしていた。何度も何度も頭をなでて、妙子さんと憲二さんと一緒に獣医さんのところに連れて行った。
